THE FILM

On November 15, 1996, the single greatest game of basketball in the history of the universe took place.

When the movie Space Jam first released, it was unlike anything anyone had ever known. Starring professional basketball player Michael Jordan, the half-live action, half-animated film had him hanging out and shooting hoops with one of the most famous cartoon casts in history - the Looney Tunes.

After opening at number one in the U.S. box office, the sports comedy went on to gross over $230 million worldwide - making it the highest-grossing basketball film of all-time. Space Jam isn't just a famous movie, it's a cultural icon.

THE STORY

Under the threat of corrupt cosmic business, the stakes have never been higher for the Looney Tunes.

Somewhere in the reaches of outer space, the amusement park Moron Mountain is facing lower customer numbers than ever before. Desperate to increase business, the park owner sends a group of his alien henchmen to earth with one goal in mind: to capture the Looney Tunes and force them to entertain guests as the park's newest attraction.

Challenging the aliens to a game of basketball to determine their fate proves to be a bad move for the Tunes, as the aliens steal the talent and skills of multiple pro basketball players to transform themselves into "Monstars." Realizing they're outclassed, the Tunes turn to basketball star Michael Jordan for help, but Jordan explains that he's given up on basketball to pursue a career in baseball.

Will the Tunes be able to convince Jordan to step onto the court once more? Or are they fated to become sideshow attractions at an amusement park for the rest of their lives? It's anyone's guess as to how this game will go.
